Annual, multi-trip travel insurance
An Annual Multi Trip policy covers all your travel for a year, for as many trips as you like as long as each single trip does not exceed 45 days duration. This policy is excellent value for money and gives you the opportunity to travel, at short notice, without having to worry about arranging travel insurance each time you go away. Provided that all you trips start and end in the UK, there is no limit to the number of trips you can make during the 12 month period.
This type of policy gives you the freedom to travel when and where you choose, whatever your choice of travel destinations. You can take a family holiday in the sun, a weekend break to Europe, long haul to New Zealand for a month and even a long weekend in a hotel in the United Kingdom. All of these would be covered under the one policy. You must be aware, though, that with an annual policy your cancellation cover only starts when your policy starts. So if you have booked and paid for a holiday you would need to start your policy straight away to give you cover for cancellation.
Depending on where you travel, you can take cover for Europe or Worldwide. Both policies will also cover pre-booked trips in the United Kingdom, providing you are away from home for at least two nights. The annual policy does have some restrictions. For example, although adults can travel independently on a family annual, children must always travel with one of the adults insured. So if your child is going on a school trip, he would need an individual policy to cover this.
Taking a Europe annual policy would cover you for trips, including cruises, anywhere in Europe. We take Europe as being anywhere west of the Ural Mountains and all countries bordering the Mediterranean (except Algeria, Israel, Lebanon and Libya) If you regularly travel further afield you would need worldwide, including Canada, the Caribbean and Cuba.
With the Annual policy you still have the option to select the level of cover, allowing you to choose the Standard, Essential or the Essential Plus. It also gives you the option to increase to the Superior level. If you are a skier, you can upgrade to include Winter Sports on your policy. This gives you up to 17 days ski cover during the policy period. Should you like to go on golfing holidays, you can take out the additional Golf cover.
